Global Challenges and Local Actions
In the course Great Sustainability Transition: Global Challenges and Local Actions, we look at the impact of the destruction of key support systems for our civilization, such as food production and our climate.
Associate professors in environmental science at Leiden University, Thijs Bosker and Paul Behrens, provide the latest scientific information, the tools needed to take action and to talk with family and friends about the urgency of that action.
Questions include: how do we minimise adverse impacts and move to a sustainable way of living?
Theory and Action
This course combines theory with ways to make a real impact. For example, by participating in a citizen science project to survey your local biodiversity and investigating the environmental impacts of your diet. Through this course, you will learn to separate facts from fiction, enabling you to bring about meaningful change.
